May always reminds us how important it is to slow down and check in—with ourselves and with each other.
It’s a time to reflect and double down on what matters: taking care of our mental and emotional health. For us at HelloCues, this month is personal. Since day one, we’ve been intentional about creating space for care—especially for Black and Brown men who are often expected to stay quiet about what they’re carrying. Our work has always been about more than grooming—it’s about making everyday care feel accessible, affirming, and necessary.
Why It Matters
Mental health is still heavily stigmatized in many communities, particularly among men of color. Too often, we're told to tough it out, to stay silent, to carry it all. But we believe in something different: in softness, in stillness, in asking for help, and in prioritizing your peace.
Resources for Support
If you or someone you love is struggling, know you’re not alone. Here are a few organizations doing powerful work:
Therapy for Black Men (therapyforblackmen.org): A directory of therapists and coaches who specialize in helping Black men navigate life’s challenges.
BEAM (Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective): beam.community offers resources, toolkits, and support networks focused on healing and wellness in Black communities.
The Loveland Foundation: thelovelandfoundation.org provides therapy support for Black women and girls—but also offers mental health education for broader audiences.
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness): nami.org offers helplines, peer groups, and guides for navigating mental health care across all communities.
What We’re Doing
We'll be donating 1% of May profits to BEAM, to help them continue their incredible work supporting Black mental health.
You Matter to Us
To everyone in our community: take a deep breath. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to feel. You’re allowed to put yourself first.
We see you.
